The Filmmaking in the Classroom workshops are two-day fully funded intensive workshops for educators and community youth leaders grades 4-12 interested in incorporating filmmaking and storytelling into instructional content. These hands-on professional development experiences provide 16 hours of in-depth direct instruction to teachers, providing them with an instructional skill set and media rich lesson plans to facilitate the production of content linked documentaries, public service announcements, instructional videos, and personal narratives.
Incentives include USOE professional development credit, Utah Literacy Core Standards-linked SHIFT curriculum guide, and membership in the SHIFT professional learning community.
Funding for this workshop is generously provided by the POPS.

1. November 13–14, 2015 (St. George, 8:30–5pm daily)
Venue: Washington School District Office, St. George
2. November 19-20, 2015, (Salt Lake City, 9:00-5pm daily) *training for BTSALP specialists
Venue: Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Education Center, U of U campus
3. February 19-20, 2016 (Utah County, 8:30-5pm daily)
Venue: Thanksgiving Point, Lehi (3003 Thanksgiving Drive)
