Dear Music Friends,
In addition to the info you have just seen in your email about UMEA, here are several other opportunities you may want to be aware of: Please read through the following, and make a note of anything that you feel would be important for you. Lesson Share 1/19 at Harvest It has been far too long since we last had an opportunity to gather and learn from one another. Thanks to Rebecca Gubler, we have a chance to do this next Thursday, January 19 from 3:30-4:30 at Harvest Elementary! Please bring a favorite lesson, a lesson you've done for an observation, or a fun seasonal idea (winter, Valentine's Day, black history month, Presidents' Day). If you are new and just want to listen, that's fine, too! I'll have snacks.:) Ukulele Class and Resources RESOURCES: I’ve recently added and updated some of the ukulele resources at music4asd.weebly.com/ukulele. Feel free to help yourself and take a look at what is there. I am also working with some other educators on collaborative projects to bring your more ukulele resources. Let me know if you are interested in a sneak preview. CLASS: We have previously discussed holding a ukulele class every third Wednesday. That means the next class will be on Wednesday, January 18 at 3:30 at Hillcrest Elementary in Orem. Other Resources

Hi ASD music friends,
A few opportunities are coming up that you may want to be aware of: Dec. 6 Concert ("In-Formance") Invitation You are invited to attend the Willowcreek Beginning Guitar Class Concert ("In-Formance") on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 PM. Several of my students will present small ensemble pieces, and the entire class will perform some songs together and demonstrate a bit about the music literacy skills they have been learning. Videos and Updates available on Music4ASD.weebly.com. I have made several updates to meeting notes available on my web site.
Teacher/Classroom Observations I have been working to schedule some opportunities for us to observe some peer music teachers, especially on Mondays. Things aren't coming together quite as quickly as I had hoped, but I am going to keep working to provide these opportunities. Classroom observations have proven to extremely valuable. Once again, if you are interested in participating, let me know (including if you have an idea of who or what you'd like to see). Also, we are looking for teachers who would be willing to be observed. We can all learn something from each other. Happy Friday! Dave |
